The [Snapmaker U1 is $699 for Black Friday](https://snapmaker.sjv.io/c/1301820/1346054/16240?u=https%3A%2F%2Fus.snapmaker.com%2Fproducts%2Fsnapmaker-u1-3d-printer&subId1=u1bf-top&ref=geekyinc.com). Snapmaker calls it [$300 off the $999 launch price](https://snapmaker.sjv.io/c/1301820/1346054/16240?u=https%3A%2F%2Fus.snapmaker.com%2Fcollections%2Fblack-friday-sale&subId1=u1bf-intro-sale&ref=geekyinc.com), and [All3DP calls it the lowest price yet](https://all3dp.com/4/snapmaker-u1-drops-to-699-this-black-friday/?ref=geekyinc.com) for this four-toolhead multicolor printer. When we checked in the fall, Snapmaker's US store had it at $849 (see our [U1 vs X2D spec sheet](https://www.geekyinc.com/snapmaker-u1-vs-bambu-x2d/)). I run two U1s in my print shop next to a Bambu Lab X2D, so here's whether the U1 is worth $699 and who should skip it.

## Snapmaker U1 Black Friday deal: the short version

- **Price:** $699 at [Snapmaker's store](https://snapmaker.sjv.io/c/1301820/1346054/16240?u=https%3A%2F%2Fus.snapmaker.com%2Fproducts%2Fsnapmaker-u1-3d-printer&subId1=u1bf-list&ref=geekyinc.com) (EU: €300 off). Snapmaker frames it as $300 off the $999 launch price.
- **How long:** the sale opened November 2, and [All3DP reports it runs through December 1](https://all3dp.com/4/snapmaker-u1-drops-to-699-this-black-friday/?ref=geekyinc.com). Snapmaker says accessory and filament discounts are coming.
- **Amazon:** the [U1 on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GYP89RTN?tag=geeky3d-20&ref=geekyinc.com) was $749 when I checked on November 5, 2026\. Buy wherever you prefer for returns and shipping.
- **Ships to:** Snapmaker's store ships direct to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK and most of the EU.

## Is the Snapmaker U1 worth it at $699?

Yes, if most of what you print uses two to four colors. At $699 the U1 costs less than Bambu's X2D Combo and hands every color its own nozzle, so color changes don't purge filament. No, if you need an enclosed heated chamber, more than four colors in a single print, or you're already deep in the Bambu ecosystem.

My own proof is simple. I bought one U1, tested it, came back and bought a second. They've become the workhorses for the multicolor figures, minis and display pieces I sell at vendor events. The X2D stays on big single-color jobs like cosplay swords.

## What $699 buys you, next to the other multicolor printers

A toolchanger is easiest to judge by what each color costs you. The table uses retailer prices I checked on November 5, 2026, and manufacturer specs from our [U1 vs X2D](https://www.geekyinc.com/snapmaker-u1-vs-bambu-x2d/) and [H3C comparison](https://www.geekyinc.com/bambu-h3c-vs-snapmaker-u1-vs-x2d/) spec tables. Divide the price by the number of nozzles that can hold a color without flushing, and the U1 is the cheapest true multi-nozzle printer here by a wide margin.

| Printer | Price (Nov 5, 2026) | Nozzles that hold a color | Price per nozzle | Purge between colors? | Enclosure |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------------- | ---------------------------- | ---------------- | -------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------- |
| **Snapmaker U1** | $699 (Black Friday) | 4 toolheads | ≈$175 | No, up to 4 colors | Open top (cover sold separately) |

Where to buy: [Snapmaker U1 at Snapmaker](https://snapmaker.sjv.io/c/1301820/1346054/16240?u=https%3A%2F%2Fus.snapmaker.com%2Fproducts%2Fsnapmaker-u1-3d-printer&subId1=u1bf-table&ref=geekyinc.com) · [U1 on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GYP89RTN?tag=geeky3d-20&ref=geekyinc.com) · [X2D Combo at MatterHackers](https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=97427&awinaffid=2948665&clickref=u1bf-x2d&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.matterhackers.com%2Fstore%2Fl%2Fbambu-lab-x2d-3d-printer%2Fsk%2FMZX8MQA2&ref=geekyinc.com) · [H2C Combo at MatterHackers](https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=97427&awinaffid=2948665&clickref=u1bf-h2c&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.matterhackers.com%2Fstore%2Fl%2Fbambu-lab-h2c-combo-3d-printer%2Fsk%2FMF0YQ0A7&ref=geekyinc.com) · [H3C at Bambu Lab](https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/h3c?ref=geekyinc.com).

The new $2,499 Bambu H3C does what the U1 does with more tools, a sealed drying AMS and an enclosure, for about 3.5 times the price. We break that trade-off down in [Bambu H3C vs Snapmaker U1 vs X2D](https://www.geekyinc.com/bambu-h3c-vs-snapmaker-u1-vs-x2d/).

## Who should buy the Snapmaker U1 this Black Friday?

- **Figure, mini and display-piece printers.** Two to four colors per print is the U1's sweet spot, and it's what mine print every day.
- **Anyone tired of purge towers.** On an AMS-style printer, every color change on a shared nozzle flushes plastic. The U1 parks one toolhead and picks up another in about five seconds ([specs](https://www.geekyinc.com/snapmaker-u1-vs-bambu-x2d/)), so there's nothing to flush.
- **Buyers outside the US.** Snapmaker ships direct to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK and most of the EU.
- **Open-source tinkerers.** The U1 runs Klipper-based firmware and Snapmaker Orca.

## Who should skip it?

- **You print ABS, ASA or big warp-prone parts.** The U1 ships open-top. Budget for Snapmaker's enclosure, or look at the enclosed [Bambu X2D](https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=97427&awinaffid=2948665&clickref=u1bf-skip-x2d&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.matterhackers.com%2Fstore%2Fl%2Fbambu-lab-x2d-3d-printer%2Fsk%2FMZX8MQA2&ref=geekyinc.com).
- **You need five or more colors in one print.** Four toolheads is a hard ceiling. The X2D grows with extra AMS units, and the H3C holds nine.
- **You want the fastest single-color machine.** The X2D is rated up to 1,000 mm/s against the U1's 500 mm/s ([manufacturer specs](https://www.geekyinc.com/snapmaker-u1-vs-bambu-x2d/)).

## What Snapmaker is claiming for the U1

[Snapmaker's Black Friday pitch](https://snapmaker.sjv.io/c/1301820/1346054/16240?u=https%3A%2F%2Fus.snapmaker.com%2Fcollections%2Fblack-friday-sale&subId1=u1bf-claims&ref=geekyinc.com) is "Save more than money: Pay Less · Waste Less · Wait Less." It claims up to 5x less multicolor waste and up to 5x faster tool changes than conventional multicolor printing. Those are Snapmaker's numbers, not my measurements. The logic holds up in my shop, though: a printer that never flushes a nozzle between colors can't waste plastic on a flush.

## Snapmaker U1 Black Friday FAQ

### How much is the Snapmaker U1 on Black Friday?

$699 at [Snapmaker's Black Friday sale](https://snapmaker.sjv.io/c/1301820/1346054/16240?u=https%3A%2F%2Fus.snapmaker.com%2Fcollections%2Fblack-friday-sale&subId1=u1bf-faq&ref=geekyinc.com), which Snapmaker bills as $300 off the $999 launch price. On Amazon it was $749 on November 5, 2026.

### When does the Snapmaker U1 Black Friday sale end?

The sale started November 2, 2026, and [All3DP reports it runs through December 1](https://all3dp.com/4/snapmaker-u1-drops-to-699-this-black-friday/?ref=geekyinc.com). Check Snapmaker's store for the current price before you buy.

### Is the Snapmaker U1 better than a Bambu printer with an AMS?

For multicolor prints of up to four colors, yes in my shop. Each color has its own nozzle, so there's no purge between colors. For enclosed printing, more than four colors, or Bambu's ecosystem, a Bambu wins. See our [multicolor printers under $1,000](https://www.geekyinc.com/bambu-lab-alternatives-2026-multicolor-printers-under-1000/) roundup for the wider field.

### Is the Snapmaker U1 good for anime figures?

Yes for multicolor FDM figures, and it's the multicolor pick in our [best 3D printer for anime figures](https://www.geekyinc.com/best-3d-printer-for-anime-figures-weapons-2026-buyers-guide/) guide. For painted display figures with the finest detail, resin still wins.

## The verdict

At $699, the [Snapmaker U1](https://snapmaker.sjv.io/c/1301820/1346054/16240?u=https%3A%2F%2Fus.snapmaker.com%2Fproducts%2Fsnapmaker-u1-3d-printer&subId1=u1bf-verdict&ref=geekyinc.com) is the multicolor printer I'd buy this Black Friday, and I already own two. Get it if you print figures, minis and display pieces in four colors or fewer. Get the [X2D](https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=97427&awinaffid=2948665&clickref=u1bf-verdict-x2d&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.matterhackers.com%2Fstore%2Fl%2Fbambu-lab-x2d-3d-printer%2Fsk%2FMZX8MQA2&ref=geekyinc.com) if you want an enclosure and big single-color speed. Prefer Amazon? The [U1 is on Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GYP89RTN?tag=geeky3d-20&ref=geekyinc.com) too.
